The area is served by the city bus route along Floresta and Port St. Lucie Boulevard, which is unusual for Port St. Lucie and worth knowing if transit access matters to you.
What Homes Are Like in Floresta Pointe
This is established central Port St. Lucie: single-family homes on standard lots, most of them free of homeowners association dues, built across a range of decades. The absence of an HOA is the main appeal for a lot of buyers here, along with a price point below the western master-planned communities. As with anything of this vintage, the roof, electrical panel, plumbing and window ratings are what determine your insurance premium and your first-year repair list.
Location and Getting Around
Floresta Drive is the spine of this neighborhood, running north toward Prima Vista and south to Port St. Lucie Boulevard. The hospital, the Civic Center, the Botanical Gardens and the Port St. Lucie Boulevard shopping corridor are all a short drive, and I-95 is a straightforward run west.
What to Check Before You Buy Here
- Roof age and insurance. On homes of this vintage the roof drives the insurance quote more than anything else. Get a quote before you are under contract, not after.
- Water and sewer. Parts of this side of Port St. Lucie were on well and septic for years. Confirm what the address has and whether a city connection is required or available.
- Flood zone. It changes block to block here. Always pull the flood determination for the exact parcel.
- Permit history. Older homes often have additions, enclosures or sheds. Make sure what is there was permitted.
