The housing is single-family, on standard Port St. Lucie lots, and in most cases not subject to a homeowners association. Buyers who want room for a workshop, a pool, a boat or a camper find that easier here than in the gated communities out west, and the entry price is typically lower. The offsetting consideration is age — look hard at the roof, the electrical panel, the plumbing and the window ratings, because those four items drive your insurance cost and your early maintenance spend.
Location and Getting Around
A central address puts the hospital, the Civic Center, the Botanical Gardens and the Port St. Lucie Boulevard shopping corridor within a short drive, with I-95 accessible to the west and US-1 and the river to the east. It is one of the easier parts of the city to live in if your week takes you to both ends of town.
