Glynlea Country Club at Wylder, Port St. Lucie

Glynlea is the golf and country club neighborhood inside Wylder, the newer master-planned community on the west side of Port St. Lucie. It is gated, built by Lennar, and built around an 18-hole championship course designed by Jim Furyk — a genuine name attached to a course in a city that already takes its golf seriously.

Like Astor Creek, Glynlea bundles the club: every resident is a member. And because it is newer, the entry point is generally lower than the established clubs in Port St. Lucie.

The Jim Furyk Course

Furyk designed the 18-hole championship course, which has recently opened. The practice facility includes a Toptracer Aqua Range — shot-tracking technology on the range, which is the kind of thing that sounds like a gimmick until you have used it and can actually see what your ball is doing.

Every Resident Is a Member

Glynlea states that every resident of the community is also a member of the club. That is the same bundled structure Astor Creek uses, and the opposite of how PGA Village works, where the club is a separate decision from the house.

Bundled is straightforward and usually better value for people who play regularly. It also means you cannot opt out if you stop playing. Both things are true and both matter at resale.

Get these in writing before you commit: the current dues, whether cart or trail fees are separate, whether there is a food and beverage minimum, and how the membership transfers when you sell. In a community this new, ask specifically what is committed in writing versus what is still planned — early buyers sometimes get better terms than later ones, and occasionally the reverse.

The Homes

Lennar offers three collections at Glynlea — twin homes plus the Augusta and Pinehurst single-family collections — running roughly 1,758 to 2,676 square feet with two to four bedrooms. That is a smaller footprint than Astor Creek, and it is reflected in the price.

Lennar builds on its "Everything's Included" model, which bundles most options into the base price. That makes their homes easy to compare against each other and harder to compare against a builder who prices options separately — the sticker looks higher until you price the other builder's home with the same finishes actually added.

Register me on your first visit. Lennar, like most builders, requires your agent to be named on your first visit to the sales centre. Tour alone and you can lose representation on that purchase entirely, with no price reduction in exchange. The builder pays the commission either way, so it costs you nothing to bring me.

Buying Into a Community That Is Still Being Built

Glynlea is new, and that cuts both ways. You get current construction, current codes and a lower entry price than the established clubs. You also get construction traffic, amenities that may still be phasing in, and a community whose social life is still forming rather than already running.

For some buyers that is the appeal — arriving with everyone else rather than joining something settled. For others it is a reason to look at Tesoro Club or St. James Golf Club instead. Worth a conversation before you tour rather than after.
