Where Are Waterfront Homes for Sale?
Lake homes are spread across the planned communities of St. Lucie West Port St. Lucie and Tradition Port St. Lucie. Freshwater canal homes run through the older central and southern neighborhoods. Saltwater canal and river homes are concentrated on the east side in Port St. Lucie 34952 and parts of Port St. Lucie 34984.

What Is at the Water's Edge
A concrete or vinyl seawall is common on canals and is owner-maintained, so its condition matters as much as the roof's. Rock revetment is lower maintenance but can shift. Lake banks are often grassed, and erosion repair may fall to the owner, the association or a district. Ask for the documents that say who is responsible before you fall for the view.
Waterfront Condos and Villas

Can I take a boat out from a lakefront home in Port St. Lucie?
Not to the river or ocean. The community lakes are stormwater lakes that do not connect to the North Fork. Some communities allow boats with no combustion engine on their lakes, while many allow no boats at all. For boating from home to the ocean, look at ocean access or river homes.
Do Port St. Lucie waterfront homes for sale have ocean access?
Some do. River homes and saltwater canal homes connected to the North Fork are ocean-access homes, because the river reaches the Atlantic through the St. Lucie Inlet near Stuart. Lake and most freshwater canal homes are not. Verify the bridges, the depth at low tide and the distance to the inlet for your boat.
Who is responsible for the seawall on waterfront homes for sale in Port St. Lucie?
Usually the homeowner. Seawall repairs can be costly, so have a marine contractor inspect the seawall, dock and lift before you buy.
