Summerfield is a gated, all-ages community in south Stuart, set among lakes, preserves and a Tom Fazio-designed golf course. What sets it apart is that the golf course is not part of the community. It belongs to The Champions Club, which is open to the public, so you get golf-course views and a gate without a mandatory golf membership or country-club dues.

Golf Without a Membership
Many Stuart golf communities require you to join the club, with a large capital contribution or initiation fee and ongoing dues. Summerfield works differently. The course that winds through it is The Champions Club, a separate business that is open to the public, and listings consistently describe no mandatory membership in Summerfield.
If you golf, you can play as a daily-fee guest or buy a membership at The Champions Club. If you do not golf, you still get the fairway and lake views and the gate, and you do not pay for a course you will not use. That is a big reason buyers compare Summerfield with nearby clubs such as Mariner Sands and Willoughby.
The Homes
Most Summerfield homes are one-story, concrete-block houses with 3 or 4 bedrooms, split floor plans and 2- or 3-car garages. Lots back onto the golf course, a lake or a nature preserve, and many homes have a private pool. The villas, built in the late 1990s, give you the same gate and amenities in a smaller, lower-maintenance home.
