Golf Communities in Port St. Lucie, FL
Port St. Lucie is one of the better golf towns in Florida for a reason that has nothing to do with the weather: the courses here were built for golfers rather than as landscaping around a subdivision. The PGA of America's teaching and testing facility is in this city. That attracted a cluster of serious courses around it, and the housing followed.
Which means the question in Port St. Lucie is rarely "is there golf near this house." It is which club, what kind of membership, and whether the membership comes with the house or is a separate purchase — because that last one catches out more buyers here than anything else.

The One Thing to Understand First: Membership Types
Two homes on the same fairway can carry completely different obligations. Before you get attached to a house, find out which of these you are buying into.

Also ask about food and beverage minimums. Most private clubs require members to spend a set amount in the dining room each quarter or year, charged whether you eat there or not. It is a real line item that rarely appears in the listing.
PGA Village and PGA Verano
PGA Village is the centre of golf in Port St. Lucie — built around the PGA Golf Club and its courses, with a set of individually gated neighborhoods inside the wider community. Golf membership at PGA Village is bought separately from the home, so your HOA dues and your club dues are two different commitments. That flexibility is exactly why a lot of buyers choose it: you can live on a championship course and decide independently how much golf you are actually going to play.
PGA Verano is the newer neighbor, with its own large amenity complex and a mix of all-ages and 55+ sections.

Savanna Club
A 55+ community with its own golf course, and one of the lowest monthly cost structures of any golf community in the city. Worth a look for active adult buyers whose priority is playing regularly without a large club bill. See Savanna Club.
Sandpiper Bay

Country Club Estates

Ballantrae
A gated community off Becker Road built around a golf course, in the southern part of Port St. Lucie. Ballantrae includes the Clubside Villas and Highland Glen neighborhoods, so the housing runs from attached villas to single-family homes and the entry point is lower than the western clubs. Spanish Lakes
Spanish Lakes is a group of 55+ land-lease communities in Port St. Lucie, and they carry the lowest monthly costs of any golf living in the county. Three of them are here in the city: Spanish Lakes One and Spanish Lakes Golf Village, both built around their own golf courses, and Spanish Lakes Riverfront, which has a community boat ramp onto the St. Lucie River. The trade-off across all three is that you own the home but lease the lot, which changes both the monthly math and the financing path — conventional home loans generally do not apply. Newer Golf Communities
Astor Creek Golf & Country Club

Glynlea Golf & Country Club at Wylder
The golf and country club neighborhood inside the Wylder master-planned community, built by Lennar. The 18-hole championship course was designed by Jim Furyk, and every resident is a member of the club. Usually a lower entry point than the mature clubs. See Glynlea homes for sale.
Buying new in a golf community: the club is often not finished when the first homes close, and membership terms for early buyers sometimes differ from later ones — occasionally in your favour. Ask what is committed in writing versus what is planned. I can get the current answer from each sales office.
What a Golf Community Actually Costs Per Month
Buyers usually budget for the monthly payment and the HOA dues and get surprised by the rest. In a Port St. Lucie golf community your real monthly figure can include:
