What an Intracoastal View Means in Jensen Beach
An Intracoastal view means you can see the Intracoastal Waterway, which here is the Indian River lagoon. A view is not the same as frontage: a condo on an upper floor can have an Intracoastal view without owning any waterfront, and a waterfront home may have a dock but a view of a canal or lake. Read the listing for the words "waterfront," "dock" and "view," and ask your agent to confirm which applies.

Where to Find Intracoastal Views
On the mainland, the best-known Intracoastal and Indian River properties are along South Indian River Drive at the north end of Jensen Beach, including Indian River Landing, where waterfront condos and townhomes have a pool, clubhouse and docks. Elsewhere on the mainland, Blue Heron (a 55+ co-op) and Ocean Breeze Resort (55+ land lease) sit on the Indian River, and both have river-facing amenities. What to Check Before You Buy
Ask about the flood zone and get a flood insurance quote, because waterfront properties near the river are often in higher-risk zones. For condos, ask about the building's flood and wind coverage, any special assessments and the reserve study. For a home with a dock, ask about the age of the dock and seawall, the water depth and whether there is a boat lift.
